About Crime Lab Report

Crime Lab Report is an independent organization that analyzes media coverage, industry trends, and public-policies related to forensic science laboratory testing and its application within the criminal justice system.  In this capacity, we seek to keep the public record open and honest so that policy-decisions regarding this critical profession will be based on accurate information.

Critical commentaries written by our editorial board and/or contributing authors are published regularly.  Although Crime Lab Report is not an advocacy organization, we seek to properly frame the issues for those who require access to accurate information about forensic science in the United States. 

Crime Lab Report reviews and publishes manuscripts and commentary from professionals and students affiliated with all functions of our criminal justice system.  In doing so, we hope to give our readers access to the thoughts and writings of individuals having a clear and thought-provoking perspective on the day's most relevant issues.  Opposing viewpoints are also published.

Crime Lab Report is managed by a chief editor with the assistance of an associate editor and editorial board.  All publications are reviewed for substance and clarity prior to publication.  A complimentary report is emailed every month throughout the calendar year to keep our readers informed about news and events that have our attention. Subscriptions to our monthly publication are free and open to all members of the public; however, our intended audience is readers having a professional interest or stake in forensic science and criminal justice.  An annual compilation of Crime Lab Report commentaries, news, and articles is printed and made available for only $18.50.  This compilation is published each January.
